We speak both science and business
LIFTT invests in innovation from the earliest stages, participating in pre-seed and seed rounds with a flexible, open-minded approach free from predefined frameworks.
Each project is assessed based on the real potential of the idea and the strength of the team behind it.
We are lean in our processes, transparent in our agreements, and fast in our decision-making. Our operational support begins during the evaluation phase: the LIFTT model blends rigorous selection with a tailor-made approach and hands-on growth support.
Beyond capital, we offer managerial coaching, guidance on governance and internal organization, and we help startups develop their business by connecting them with highly qualified, experienced specialists.
Even in the later stages—from startup to early growth—we remain close to the companies we support, investing directly or facilitating access to new capital through a solid, curated, international network.
Our expertise is part of the deal

Critical Resources
Critical Resources – such as strategic minerals, bio-based materials, water and new ingredients – became fundamental for key sectors like energy, electronics, agriculture and advanced manufacturing. In a context characterized by energetic transition, scarcity and geopolitical instability, guaranteeing sustainable access to these resources has become essential for industrial competitivity.
The market is growing rapidly: critical minerals will exceed $550 billion by 2030 and bio-based materials will reach $150 billion by 2027. Major companies such as Nestlé, BASF, Google and Unilever are investing in innovative solutions.
For LIFTT, this sector represents a strategic area of great transformation, where deep tech meets the systemic needs of global supply chains. The company invests in startups that develop scalable solutions to regenerate resources, reduce environmental impact and build new production infrastructure.
Areas of interest range from critical minerals to advanced recycling, from bio fabrication to regenerative agriculture, to water solutions and bio-based materials. Increasing demand, regulatory evolution and technological maturity create a unique opportunity to build a regenerative and resilient economy.
Human Health & Aging
The Human Health & Aging sector was born from the urgent need to address aging not only as a demographic challenge, but as an opportunity to redesign the entire healthcare system through transformative technologies. In a world where people live longer but not necessarily better, this vertical aims to combine science and technology to prolong health, autonomy and dignity.
Innovation ranges from cellular reprogramming to the use of AI to simulate clinical trials, from advanced organ preservation to robotics for elderly care. These are not futuristic scenarios, but technologies that are already operational and rapidly developing.
By 2050, over 2.1 billion people will be over 60 and neurological diseases today represent an annual cost of over 1,000 billion dollars. The convergence of biotechnology and computational tools is accelerating diagnosis, treatment and prevention.
LIFTT sees this space as a high-impact opportunity, investing in areas such as neurotechnology, cell and gene therapies, longevity, precision radiation therapy, AI for drug development, tissue engineering, and healthcare robotics. The adoption of decentralized and predictive models, scalable technologies, and structural demand creates an ideal environment for long-term investments, where science meets scalability and innovation generates systemic value for society.
Infrastructure for Data Revolution
The vertical about Infrastructure for Data Revolution represents a radical transformation that is redefining the way data is generated, transmitted, processed and stored. In a global context, increasingly dependent on digital solutions, the ability to manage huge volumes of information in a scalable, resilient and efficient way has become essential.
LIFTT invests in enabling technologies that respond to this systemic challenge: from next-generation semiconductors to AI-optimized data centers, from quantum processing to advanced photonics, each subsector contributes to creating the foundations of a sustainable and high-performance digital ecosystem. The goal is not only to follow technological evolution, but to guide it from its most embryonic stages, favoring the transfer from research to industrial scale.
In this scenario, innovations such as advanced sensors and quantum communication enable new applications in critical sectors such as healthcare, mobility, defense and manufacturing. The interconnection between biology, physics and computer science fuels an unprecedented acceleration, in which the frontier of data processing coincides with the possibility of responding to urgent needs: energy efficiency, technological autonomy and predictive capacity.
For LIFTT, investing in infrastructure for the data revolution means supporting technologies that not only improve performance, but redesign the very role of information in society and the economy.
Energy security and Industrial Automation
Today, energy, industry and security are intertwined in a strategic challenge that requires resilient infrastructure, secure energy supply and adaptable production models. In a context marked by geopolitical crises, energy transition and labor shortages, innovation in production and energy systems has become an industrial priority.
The market reflects this urgency: over 100 billion dollars have been invested in robotics and automation in the last decade, while AI and automation are spreading in every sector. The United States, Europe and China are strongly focusing on energy autonomy.
LIFTT invests in technologies that strengthen industrial sovereignty and enable a more efficient, autonomous and safe industry. Its areas of interest include: human-AI collaboration, robotics and prefabrication, AI for critical safety, satellite connectivity, new materials for nuclear power, energy efficiency and intelligent network management.
Technological maturity, increasing regulations and the growing demand for resilience make this the ideal time to invest in scalable solutions and intelligent systems that transform the industry in a sustainable and strategic way.
LIFTT EuroInvest
Building the next generation of European companies
LIFTT EuroInvest is an investment vehicle established by LIFTT in partnership with the European Investment Bank (EIB). This is the first initiative in which the EIB has chosen to invest equity-like, early-stage capital through a venture capital holding company.
LIFTT is responsible for identifying and selecting target start-ups, while the EIB contributes capital to the vehicle, which is then invested through a 1:1 matching mechanism with LIFTT equity. There are no guarantees on the return of invested capital or minimum return.
LIFTT EuroInvest will operate for five years with a total endowment of up to €50 million, which will be invested alongside an additional €50 million deployed by LIFTT. This will be invested in deals selected by LIFTT and in line with European ESG and strategic criteria.
This model enables LIFTT to strengthen its role as a lead investor, increasing the impact of its activities on the innovation ecosystem while maintaining operational flexibility and full alignment with the European Investment Bank’s mission.
