RANDOM POWER
Random Power (RaP!) aims at developing a platform for generating a virtually endless stream of random bits, where unpredictability is guaranteed by the quantum properties of matter. Random bits are at the base of cryptographic processes, secure computing, gambling, simulation of complex processes and training in artificial intelligence algorithms, markets with significant expected growth.
Cybersecurity systems are evolving towards the use of random digits extracted by the analysis of unpredictable natural phenomena with principles and systems generically identified as True Random Number Generators (TRNG) as opposite to software Pseudo-Random Number Generators (PRNG). Phenomena at quantum level are intrinsically stochastic and, as such, irreducibly unpredictable. For this reason, they are the ideal base for Q-TRNG, where “Q” stands for Quantum.
Random Power (RaP!) is a hardware Q-TRNG based a on the analysis of the time series of endogenous pulses in a dedicated Silicon structure. As such, it benefits not only of the “Q” properties but also from the tremendous development in the Silicon Technology, opening the possibility to design and engineer Systems-on-Chip (SoC), with low power consumption and cost-effective, to be integrated in appliances, mobile devices and consumer electronics, to enter a market at the edge of the change leading by 2022 to an estimated number of 29 billion interconnected devices.
