ReCross Cardio is an American med-tech company established in late 2021 as a spinn-off of Cardiovascular Lab. It has developed a medical device for interatrial septal closure made of nanofibres and nitinol.

The Recross device has two versions: the first developed for ASD patients, the second for PFO patients, the difference being in the structure of the device that adapts to the different type of ‘hole’.
The Recross device is manufactured using the electrospinning technique, which makes it possible to create an elastic membrane with an elongation of over 400%. This feature is combined with the porous nanostructure of the material that favours the repopulation of epithelium on and inside the device.
The rigid structure, on the other hand, is made of Nitinol, an advanced shape memory material that allows the catheter to be sealed inside the device and placed with a specially designed delivery system so as not to change the procedure currently used by specialists.
